Healing energy for wellness, success and fulfillment

Healing energy for wellness, success and fulfillment

Excerpt from the paper 'Living in constant Vata, a western crisis'; by Dr. W.A. Castro

Living in constant Vata vitiation, or as I call it... Vatafication, has led the west to a serious crisis, with deep roots in our health, overall wellness, and also in our success as individuals and as a community. Reason for which there is a great deal of lacking in our sense of fulfillment.

It is evident that without emotional balance, an individual can not be considered healthy. Ayurveda describes Vata vitiation from a psychological perspective in a manner that relates to what western societies describe as emotional imbalances. Our western society lives immersed in, first of all what we call information overload. Secondly, we tend to validate our human worth by our material possession, a far cry from true value and worth. Our constant pursuit of financial stability, not bad in and of itself, has in fact morphed into a pursuit of fulfillment through material gratifiers, not aware most of us that true gratification and fulfillment come from within the individual and require little if any monetary resources. It is my intention to address in this paper how this Vatafication of our society has led to a serious decline in overall health and wellness, to the extent where it should be considered a public health issue; not to mention a grave economic problem, given the expenditures incurred each year in treating mental and emotional health conditions. It is of relevance to mention that aside from the financial burden of treating these conditions, most available western treatments are plagued with very undesirable side effects, they also induce an unnatural and unhealthy existence in their recipients. Therefore despite being necessary at times, the long term use of such substances should be avoided. Bringing balance back to individual's life and to communities and society as a whole, should substantially diminish the need for such medications, this will in turn lead to a healthier more fulfilled society, much like we were fifty years ago. Ayurveda without a doubt provides healthy lifestyle alternatives for achieving these goals, both from a preventive and a therapeutic perspective. Since money and financial stability also play an important role in everyone's life I will briefly address the emotionally healthy way to deal with money. With an Ayurvedic perspective in mind, money is merely, beyond the tangible object we refer to as money, a form of energy in the universe; as with any other type of energy for example food or nuclear, the intention and manner in which it is utilized will in fact define it's quality, in other words it will make it good or bad.

There is a a valuable resource in Ayurveda for restoring this lost balance. Through healthy lifestyle programs, and particularly through energy healing with Reiki. With Reiki restoring balance to an individuals life or even an entire community or country, Vata can be brought back into balance, in fact it is a wounderful start to balance all three doshas. With this initial step, the groundwork is laid to start a healing process which will eventtually lead to efficient wellness, success and fulfillment.
